Instacart Review

Instacart

Calling all adults that are not fans of going to the grocery store!!!

Parents with small children!

Adults with no time!

Adults who would rather do pretty much anything with their time!

Let me introduce you to INSTACART! It is a magical game changer similar to Amazon, yes, it is that big of a deal.

There are two options

  1. For $5.99 you can have groceries delivered to your house from the grocery store of your choice.
  2. For an annual fee of $149 you can have groceries delivered to your house from multiple different stores for free, and sometimes WITHIN AN HOUR FOR FREE! That’s right!

Shopping is extremely easy, there is a page for each store available in your area and you simply add items to your cart from each store you’d like to shop from.

There is a special tab for items that are on sale, and coupons are added automatically.

We have just discovered this tonight and we are using their 14-day free trial to order groceries from Costco and Safeway within a 2-hour window. There is a service fee of 10% and you can add a tip of 10% or more (but it can be taken away if you aren’t pleased with your service, but we are extremely pleased).

You can order from the deli, alcohol (from select stores), flowers, dairy, pretty much anything. If you order alcohol you need to be prepared to show an ID to your delivery person upon arrival. And you can pick 1 hour, 2 hour, 5 hour, delivery windows, or you can choose between hour-long slots of time, for example between 6-7 pm or 7-8 pm.

There are also constant updates on the website and through texts as well, and when the delivery is in transit, it is complete with an estimated time of arrival, AND a photo of the delivery person so you know who to expect.

AND our Instashopper, Lucy,  called us from Costco to check which variety of flowers we would like and let us know that they were out of bananas and suggested cuties because they are in the same price range and category.

For us, this is huge!!! Taking kids to the store is a lot of work, and to also avoid driving around our area saves us on gas.
